About

I began my career as a software engineer in 2024 and have been at it for over 2 years now. During this period the industry has considerably changed and I am in a constant pursuit of where I want to be in 10 years. What drives me the most of being involved in theoretical fields involving science breakthroughs. My goal for the next few years is to learn and do research on how I can apply Machine Learning on Climate and Weather Data.

My Life

Growing up in Colombo, Sri Lanka, I was drawn to mathematics and finished top of my school in it. The pull towards problem solving led me to earning a BSc in Computer Science at Memorial University. Today I’m a software engineer at Enaimco building software for subsea integrity management. Working with real physical systems and my curiosity to explore pointed me towards applying machine learning for climate and weather.

Current Work

I’m currently working on doing an API rewrite using domain driven design to model subsea operations and their lifecycles.

Research Interests

My current focus is machine learning for climate and weather, specifically predicting weather-related disasters caused by heavy monsoon rains in Sri Lanka. I’m keen to collaborate with researchers working on this area.
